Narrative
HAZLEHURST, GA – Two adults and two children died last Thursday in a wrong-way crash along the highway in Hazlehurst.
The accident happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. on GA-27 near Eureka Church Road. This is just northwest of the Circle SS Horse Auction.
Police say the driver of a northbound Chevy Avalanche entered the southbound side of the highway and collided head-on with a southbound 18-wheeler. Both vehicles caught fire after leaving the roadway, and the Chevy rolled.
The truck driver, the driver of the Chevy, and two young children from the Chevy died at the scene.
Authorities identified the wrong-way driver as Nicholas Coleman of Hazlehurst. The truck driver was identified as Jason Goodwin of South Carolina.
